The importance of trust, patience and hope

Once in a while certain bible verses keep popping into my mind.  Maybe it’s God’s way of reminding me that He’s there and if I can just trust him and be patient, I will feel more fulfilled and joyful.

“Be Still and Know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10 NIV)

Life is so busy.  We are all on technology and information overload.  When someone is dealing with an anxiety disorder, such as social anxiety, a hectic life coupled with the ever-present thoughts can wear a person down.  When I remember to pause and focus on my breath, I see people around me rushing from one activity to another, multi-tasking and striving to do more and more each day.  I fall into this trap way too often.  Maybe it’s my high anxiety type A personality that pulls me in this direction. Perhaps that is why I hear God telling me to “be still”.  I know that being present and observing life through my senses can help me to feel more calm and at peace.

For me, it comes back to trusting God and being patient.  Accepting and appreciating life as it is and never giving up hope.  The challenges we face in life today will only make us stronger in the end!

After all, aren’t “All things are possible if you believe.” (Mark 9:23 NKJV)?

When I find myself feeling disconnected with anxiety levels on the rise, I take more time to meditate, journal and listen to uplifting music.  I also find that connecting with positive friends who lift me up helps greatly.

Pay attention to people or activities that lift you up and put your mind at ease, and make them a part of your life as often as you can.  Remember that you are perfect just the way you are.  Love yourself and share that love and kindness with everyone around you.
